INXS has been eligible for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame since 2005. However, the Australian pop/rock band has yet to be nominated. Their loyal fanbase is trying to change that.
A Change.org petition simply titled “Induct INXS into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame” was recently launched. As of publishing, the petition is at 11,400+ signatures of its 15,000 signature goal.
The petition was created by a group called “Team Induct INXS” and is made up of three fans: Dina Ghram, Shanon Steele and Jim Skivalidas. The petition’s description reads, in part, “After many years of amazing music and dynamic “live” performances, it’s time to ensure the legacy of one of the greatest bands in the world – INXS! We’re asking fans from all over the globe to become one voice by signing this petition to help get INXS nominated & inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.”
When reached for comment, “Team Induct INXS” told Billboard in a joint statement, “All three of us are big music fans and have a deep appreciation of bands that have touched our lives and inspired us throughout the years. INXS is at the top of all three of our lists – we’ve grown up with them, seen them ‘live’, bought all their albums, and come to think of INXS as a family of sorts…We are not stopping this campaign until INXS is nominated and inducted. This should have happened years ago.”
Rock Hall Snubs: 45 Artists Never Nominated with 5+ Years of Eligibility

Sure, there are plenty of artists that have been nominated multiple times but have yet to be inducted. But what about all of the eligible artists that have yet to receive even a nomination? [NOTE: Artists are eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first record.]
With help from statistics compiled by Future Rock Legends, here are 45 artists who have never been nominated for the Rock Hall that have been eligible for induction for at least five years.

(Sir Paul McCartney inducting Foo Fighters? C'mon now!) She's also well-versed in etiquette and extraordinarily nice. #TransRightsAreHumanRights
